Red class newsletter 11.10.19
Date: 11th Oct 2019 @ 10:18am
Dear Parents,
Well what a wet week we have had. We changed our plans for forest school this week due to the wet weather. We put our waterproofs and wellies on and went splashing in puddles instead. The children thoroughly enjoyed this.
In phonics we have learnt the letters – g,o,c,k and next week we will learn ck, e,u,r.
We have read the story ‘Goldilocks and the 3 Bears’ and made our very own headbands to help us retell the story, we have sorted bears into size and colours, made story maps, tasted different flavoured porridge and created a pictogram of our favourite, made our own books, by sequencing the pictures from the story and more…
Thank you to everyone who came to my meeting this week. If you couldn’t make it, the power points are on the website under Red class. The children have been practising their letter names, sounds and tricky words before they have read this week and this has been making such a difference. PLEASE keep going through these at home and making words up with the letters too.
Next week we will be continuing with ‘Goldilocks and the 3 Bears’ – we will be writing our favourite porridge on spoon shaped paper, writing key words/letters in our own little books, looking at different ways to make 5, matching quantity to numeral, writing about our own teddy AND I have been told Goldilocks might be paying us a little visit on Thursday – I hope she behaves!
Forest school – Monday
P.E – Tuesday
Goldilocks visit – Thursday
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Newman and Red Team
