Huge thanks to everyone who helped, attended, bought raffle tickets, dressed up and generally supported our amazing Christmas Fair. Particular thanks to Sandra Francis, Jo Hillman, Penny Haydn-Lee, Sally Handley and Father Christmas for their hard work and to all the staff who helped. We raised an outstanding £2000!!! Well done to everyone these funds will help to fund the instrumental lessons for Year 5, visits and extra nice things for all the children to enjoy. The PTA do an amazing job but we really need more people to help out. If you think you are able to please see Sandra, Penny or Jo.

Thank you to Cheerbrook/Store All for supplying our Christmas Tree which has pride of place in our reception and for all the local businesses that donated raffle prizes.

Year 6 residential visit to London, they visited The Natural History Museum, watched The Lion King, went to Houses of Parliament, Tower of London, National Portrait Gallery and were dramatic at The Globe Theatre. The children had a super time, were very well behaved and their excellent behaviour was commented on by the coach drivers too. Thank you to all the staff who attended the trip and made it such a success.

Years 3/4/5 watched The Snow Queen last week. The children thoroughly enjoyed the magical adventure at the New Vic Theatre.

Year 5 Play Leaders

Well Done to Year 5 on the successful completion of their play leader training. Along with Mr Jones they are now having 12.00 o’ clock lunch and then heading out to lead games and activities for other children over lunchtime. This is a tremendous responsibility that you are doing really well with, we are very proud of you!

 Building News!

As the school has grown, so the hall has not! As part of our work this year we are submitting a bid to the Conditions Improvement Fund (CIF) to seek funding direct from government for an extension to the school hall and new windows and doors across the school. The bid is submitted this week and we will hear in late spring if we have been successful. Approximately 1 in every 3 bids were successful last year, so we shall keep our fingers crossed! Planning Permission has now been applied for. If you would like to see the drawings, please visit http://planning.cheshireeast.gov.uk/applicationdetails.aspx?pr=16/5841N&query=d1f3e3497ff343b4a4aa4356559b7e17&start=&from=m or go to the Cheshire East planning application area and search for planning reference: 16/5841N. We also have copies in school so please call in and ask to see them if you wish.

 Carol Service

Our whole school visit to St Mary’s to practise for the Carol Service was super and we are practising hard in school too. We really hope you will be able to join us on Monday (December 12th) at 6.15p.m. in church. Remember Reception and Key Stage One children need to be in church between 5.45pm and 6.00p.m. along with any children in the orchestra or choir (Don’t forget your instruments and music!!). All other Key Stage Two children and their parents meet on the square at 6.00p.m. with a small torch or lantern to start the light procession into church at 6.15p.m. Refreshments will be served after the performance and you are welcome to join us. The concert should last just under an hour.

 Reading Supporter Training

On Tuesday January 17th we will be running training for anyone who currently helps with reading or would like to in the future. 5.30p.m. to 6.30p.m. at school. There is infant training and junior training according to where you volunteer. Please add your name to the list in the school office so we know who to expect. If you want to know any more details then please ask Mrs E.
