Break a leg Year 5

Indigo have been outstanding in their preparation for their part in The Children’s Shakespeare Festival’s version of The Tempest. They take to the boards today at The New Vic and anyone unable to attend will have an opportunity to see them perform again next week at Indigo class assembly. It is a truly memorable performance and not to be missed. Well done Year 5 you have made us all so very proud of you!

Be on time

School starts at 8.50a.m. prompt. We appear to have developed some late comers. Please can you work with school to be on time. So much important organisation for the day starts at 8.50 from lunch ordering to changing reading books and checking diaries. Lateness sets your child on the back foot from the start of the day and singles them out. If you need any support in getting to school on time, please let us know so that we can support you and your child.

The Pub and Car Park re-open!

The newly refurbished pub opens next Wednesday – March 20th at 12.00p.m. at 3.30p.m. (Hoorah- parking returns!!!) On that day there will be a face painter and balloon modeller at the pub after school and Natalie and Joe warmly invite all the parents and children to pop in and see the transformation.

Uniform

Please make sure all uniform is correctly worn and labelled. Plain socks, black shoes, hair tied back, Jo-Jo bows in small and medium are fine but no larger and no make-up is what is expected of all the children. We have so many sweatshirts, coats and gloves in the lost property bin currently that I would encourage parents to pop in and try to reunite them with their owners.

Pear Tree Sports and Games

Last Friday we took a team of orange and yellow class children to play in a football tournament at the Crewe Alex dome. They played remarkably well for their age, showing skill, determination and teamwork. They drew one game and won all the others. Which made them finish top of their group! Well done ‘little’ newts!

Cross Country- Monday evening children from KS2 took part in the cross country. They all tried their best and finished the course. It does get hard, especially as you get into the older year groups but not giving up and carrying on even when it’s hurting gets results. Thank you to the past Pear Tree children who ran as pace makers too.

I’m so proud of every single one of you. Mrs Newman

Next week Orange class are all off to South Cheshire College for a morning of early cricket skills and thanks to the PTA for paying for the transport there and back. Have fun and learn lots, Orange!

On Monday our Year 6 basketball children are off to the County Finals over in Ellesmere Port. We wish you the best of luck and are so proud of you for getting this far in the competition. Enjoy!

On Thursday a team of 5 and 5 individuals of Year 1&2 children are going to Camm Street gym to take part in a gymnastics competition. They have to perform a set routine in front of judges. Good luck newts!

A week on Friday we have a team of Year 6 boys taking part in a football tournament. Good luck!
