Pear Tree takes part in The Biggest Coffee Morning!
On Friday 30th September parents, staff and pupils took part in a Macmillan coffee morning at Pear Tree Primary School in Stapeley. New headteacher Boo Edleston explained: 'This is the first time the school has hosted a Macmillan coffee morning and we were delighted with the tremendous support we received.'

Mrs Ruth Hadfield, Deputy Headteacher who organised the event with her Year 6 class added; ' We were delighted that Andy Cliffe from Brine Leas, Julia Timpson and Craig Machin from Chatwins came along and helped Mr Chris Sykes our Year 4 teacher, to judge the 'Pear Tree Bake-Off' competition. This proved to be hotly contested with over twenty five entries! Our Year Six pupils did a tremendous job sending out invitations, publicising the event and helping on the day and we were delighted to see so many members of our school family come and support this very worth will cause.'

Head Lice

Please can we make sure all hair is tied back and we make this weekend ‘bug busting’ time. We have head lice in most classes now and lots of girls have their hair down which gives the lice an even easier entry point from one head to another.

We are the best school in the world and we want everyone to know it from the moment they see us so please can we all follow the school rules on black school shoes. If shoes are trainers they must be plain black and smart.

Please join us for Harvest at 10.00a.m. on Friday October 14th in school. We are collecting for the Nantwich Food Bank and on the following Monday we will be asking members of Year 6 if they would like to help take our donation to the distribution centre. If any parents can help, please let us know. If you send tinned goods it would really help if you can write the expiry date largely on the top of the tin in marker pen – it saves masses of time at the centre for the staff.

Vicar Barrie from St Mary’s, as well as, Jane Emery from the Nantwich Food Bank will be joining us and taking part of the service.

A plea from the staff...

Please, please if your child is in Year 1 or older can you support them to learn to tie shoe laces! It’s a real time waster both for PE lessons and particularly for football club when the coaches and staff spend more time doing shoe laces than playing football!

Tea with Mrs E - Awarded to the children who have really been outstanding in their learning, their kindness, manners or an excellent ‘I can’ attitude in school. This is fortnightly

The following children had ‘Tea with Mrs E’ on Friday 23rd of September ---Marek, Lola-Rae, Theo, Molly, Maia, Jonas, Cameron, Erin, Olivia, Jess, Katie, Sam, Cameron and Freya.

This Friday staff will be nominating those children who consistently work hard and do as they are asked immediately – I’m sure I could have 200+ every time but it will be just 14 this week!

Take a Bow – This is a weekly opportunity to celebrate good behaviour, a ‘can do’ attitude, helpfulness – all the things most children do all the time but sometimes we forget to praise them enough for,.

The following children ‘Took a Bow’ on Friday 23rd of September ---Izaac, Charlotte, Zach, Oliver, Toby, Lucie, Esme, Oliver, Maddox, Joe, Isabella, Jack, Cameron and Amy.
