Red Class Newsletter 29.10.17

Date: 29th Sep 2017 @ 11:06am

Dear Parents,

We have had a great week, the children have been learning more letter sounds - you will find these in their book bags tonight.  Again, please go through these, practise the name, sound, action and formation.  We have been practising them in class too!  s,a,t,p,i,n.
We have been playing a range of games during PE and enjoyed getting muddy in forest school making mud faces (See our school FB page for photos).
Not only have we been busy 'playing', we have been practising our prepositions, learning basic reading skills, blending and segmenting CVC words (see FB for photo), listening to and identifying rhyming words and making houses out of 2d shapes.  Thank you all for the house photos.

The 'My Learning Book' is beginning to fill up with photos and videos of your child.  So all that 'I haven't done anything at school business' will soon become apparent that they clearly do.  I will be giving out passwords at parents evening.

Next week we will be continuing with the harvest theme and reading the book 'The Little Red Hen'.  We will be carrying out a range of activities such as:
Ordering the story using pictures, making bread, washing vegetables, printing repeated patterns with vegetables, rhyming words with 'hen', observational drawings of wheat, painting with wheat, weighing veg, reading, learning more sounds and learning about 'numicon' and even more…. who said we just play in Red class! :-)

PE is on Monday
Forest School Tuesday
1st of 2 parents evening is on Thursday.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Newman and Team
