Red Class Newsletter 24.11.18

Date: 24th Nov 2018 @ 10:27pm

Dear Parents,
This week we have been learning all about 'The 3 Little Pigs', we have built houses out of sticks and leaves in forest school, used our blocks and tools to build houses and went to watch our very own builders at work too!  The children have been writing sentences, using Beebots to move around our grid by giving them instructions such as forwards, backwards, turn and go.  We have created our own paintings by 'blowing' paint, made our own stick puppets and lots more.

This week we are reading 'Little Red Riding Hood' and we may have a special visitor turning up with cakes (ssh don't tell the children), we will be making maps, writing lists of what we would buy for Little Red Riding Hood, practising our 1 more and less, writing descriptions of the characters, directing the Beebots through the forest and lots more...
We will be taking a trip over the the coop to buy a food from a list - just like Little Red Riding Hood on Thursday and looking at a range of coins and their values.

A lovely Grandparent has sent me this app which is very similar to our cursive handwriting, if you would like something to help at home - 'singalong cursive handwriting' it is priced at £1.99 but is supposed to be really good.

The spellings seem to be going really well, thank you for all your hard work.  Please remember to put the red spelling book in their bag on a Friday.  We have benchmarked the children in their reading and the progress they have made is just fantastic.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend,
See you on Monday
