Red Class Newsletter 22.06.18

Date: 22nd Jun 2018 @ 12:20pm

Dear Parents,
The children have had a lovely week completing their work around Pirates, they have made pirate hats, written a message on a bottle, drawn a skull and crossbones and more.  We have had our new starters in this week, so Red class have joined up with their buddies and completed a range of lovely work (see school facebook, or my learning book for photos).

Next week, is Active week so the children will be doing EVEN more physical activity than usual!  Every morning at 8:45am you will hear the school bell.  The children will have to leave their bags outside the classroom and join the whole school on the playground for a whole school dance or 2.  You are either welcome to go or stay and join in.

We will have forest school on Monday where we will collect a number of natural objects and then split these into a range of groups.  For example, how many ways can you make 8?  P.E will be on Tuesday but we will also be practising for our sports day on Friday so can they wear P.E kits on Tuesday and Friday next week please?  We will be busy writing sentences, riddles, working with money, learning the days of the week and months of the year and lots more..

Red class will be meeting Mrs Swallow next Thursday during 'Move up morning' to get a little taster into life in Orange class, please reassure them that it will be great!

RED CLASS CONCERT AND TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC - We have had 6 weeks of singing with Mrs Swan and learned a range of songs.  We would like to show these to you.  So Red class families are invited into school on Thursday 12th July at 2pm where you will get to see your child perform and then after you can stay for a drink and a biscuit too.

Don't forget sports day on Thursday 5th July 9:30-11:30am.  Your child needs to wear the river family colour t-shirt.

Home Learning - PLEASE can you practise 2d shapes such as circle, square, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, diamond, star  AND 3d shapes such as sphere, cube, cuboid, pyramid, cylinder and cone.  Look for these in the environment etc.  We have been going through these at school, but they need reinforcing still.

Thank you
