Red Class Newsletter 21.09.18

Date: 21st Sep 2018 @ 11:19am

Hello all,
We have had a super week, despite the rain! Thank you to everyone for dropping off at 8:45am, the children are coming into school really well and remembering all of their jobs.  This week we have been practising writing our names using our cursive handwriting style - some children have nailed this already! They have all read with an adult over the week too.  We have re-created your house using a range of 2d shapes, these will be displayed in your child's learning journals.  They have also used their family photos to label each person.  If you haven't sent in a photo of your house then please do so.  If you cannot print, the please email me and I will do this for you.

Next week -
Monday prepare for mud!  Due to all of the rain, I'm hoping for the forest area to be quite muddy.  We are going to get 'dirty hands' as we will be making mud faces and displaying these on trees around our forest area. Keep a look out on our school facebook for photos.  Please continue to send children in suitable outdoor clothing and no shoe laces please.  School shoes may be worn.

Tuesday is P.E.  We will be reading books all about families and how these can be different.  Circle time - What's special about your family?

We will also be writing what is nice about our mum and/or dad.  Counting in 1s, singing a range of number songs and beginning to look at and use our numicon and painting a self-portrait using mirrors.
As well as the above the children always have the opportunities to play inside and outside, with the construction, playdough, colouring, bikes, sand, water, blocks etc.

Polite reminders -
*Any whole class party invitations coming in - please can you just send 29 in without names on.  As this saves precious time each morning sorting into book bags.
*Please send money for snack in a named envelope, there are a lot of children now who are having toast each morning so this will really help.

Please see school newtletter with lots of other information on.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Newman and Red Team
