Red Class Newsletter

We have had a lovely week in red class this week. Our new topic has started off well. We have read the book ‘Oliver’s vegetables’ and have written a sentence about our favourite vegetable, we have made repeating patterns with painted carrot ends, done observational drawings of them too and also done lots of reading and writing about our holiday! Not to mention, science experiments, new role-play – Garden centre and prepared our tyres for new plants.

Over the next couple of weeks we will be going ‘bean’ mad! We will be looking at a few books – Jack and the beanstalk, Jim and the beanstalk and Jasper’s beanstalk. The children will be planting their own beans in a variety of different ways (look out on fb for photos), we will be keeping a bean diary and recording what is happening each week. We will be counting beans, sorting them, adding and subtracting them, maybe even double and half them too!

Next week –

Monday – PE – please ensure PE kits are in school.

Tuesday – forest school – we will be continuing to use dragon sneezes effectively and building dens with our new sticks!

PLEASE can you all check at home for lost items. Marek has lost his full PE kit and Tanishaa has lost her waterproof trousers.

Snack money – please can this be in a named purse or envelope as it gets a little confusing with lots of loose money all over the classroom.

If anyone can spare an hour anytime in the week, we would welcome you to hear readers. This is such a help and all of our students have finished for the year now!

We have another group of children on our balance bikes now, see if they tell you who they are and what they have been up to.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Newman and Red Team
