Red class newsletter 16.11.18

Date: 16th Nov 2018 @ 9:34am

Dear Parents,
We have had yet another busy week.  We started off reading Cinderella and made our very own natural wands in forest school.  Every child was granted 1 wish and they wrote this down - we had some wishing that their family were happy, some wanting hot tubs, some wanting it to be Christmas every day and lots more.  During maths this week we have looked at clocks and we all had a go at recognising and making a range of o'clocks times, counting in 1s, 2s and 10s, using Cinderella's shoe and taking gems away (see learning book) and even talked about odd and even numbers!  The children drew castles and painted these with ink using cotton buds and some made their own Cinderella dolls.

Polite reminders - please send only water in to drink, healthy snacks and name everything.  If your child has snack money every day, if you would like as it makes it easier for you, send in a named envelope for the week.  Save you sending it in every day.  I also have a cardigan with a poppy on in the classroom, the name label has come out, so if you are missing one, we have it.

Next week - we are reading one of my favourites - The 3 Little Pigs.  The children will be building houses for them in forest school, using Beebots in maths to direct to the houses, playing a pig addition game, blow painting, rhyming words with 'pig', writing parts of the story loads more.  It's going to be great!

All welcome to our phonics and reading evening which is on Thursday 22nd November at 6pm.

Home learning this week - is to practise new words in spelling book, read, count on and back in 1s to 20 and to recap all the phase 2 letter sounds that I gave out.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Newman
