Red class newsletter 16.02.18

Date: 16th Feb 2018 @ 10:00am

Well, I can't believe we are now half way through the year!  Time is flying by and we have so much more to learn and do.  The children have had a fabulous half term and learnt lots!  We have been really lucky to have Miss Lunt as an extra pair of hands and all the parents who have helped immensely with interventions and individual reading.

Delamere - we had the best day yesterday.  In the morning we made stickmen, homes for them and a forest animal out of air drying clay.  If anyone could send theirs back in for our display after half term, we would be very grateful.
We also received a tree (Scots pine) off a very generous parent from school who works at Delamere.  We have a few spare to plant in the school grounds too.  Forest Explorers who led our day said the following on their Facebook post last night, which was lovely to hear!

'Pear Tree primary from Nantwich visited us today to do some Stick Man activities and to walk to see the Gruffalo.
What a beautiful day we had, blue skies and sunshine all the way!
Such a lovely class of children and such a lovely teacher, TAs and parents.
The children were really into exploring and running around the forest, and it was so lovely to see their adults allowing them to do that, climbing up hills and generally having a great time. We loved having you Pear Tree Primary, see you next year!'

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped out on this trip (think it was the most relaxing and enjoyable trip I have been on) and this is due to the number of fabulous adults.  The children learnt lots and behaved very well.  They were a pleasure to take out for the day, bring on the next trip!

I have uploaded all the photos from the day to your child's learning book.  So please take a look and comment if you like.  Even though you got to see your child's books at parents evening, the learning book holds so much more.  For example, today the children are having a fun filled learning day of music.  I will be uploading photos and videos of this on there too.

Homework - I will be giving out the new homework for the term on the first day back (Tuesday) please send books in to ensure you get all the relevant information. Over the holidays the children deserve a well earned rest but please continue with reading (you will get extra books this evening), doodle maths and phonics phase 3 sounds.

STEAM week has been very successful this week and again you will find lots of photos on the learning book to see what they have been up to.  Our school Facebook is full of photos too.

First day back is PE so please dress your child in PE kits ready.  There won't be forest school first week back, this will begin the week after.  Mystery reader is continuing and we NEED MORE of you to sign up!! Go on, it's for the children and they love it!

Have a fabulous half term and thank you for your continued support.  This enables me to enjoy my job more and more every day with such wonderful children and families.
