Red class newsletter 15.06.18

We have had a super week learning all about Pirates!  We made our very own maps and buried treasure, we played a range of pirate maths games, adding and subtracting gold coins and made pirate ships too!  The children have been working hard with their writing and have been practising writing sentences independently.

Next week, we will be continuing our work around pirates.  In forest school we will be making bees and in P.E playing team games.  On Wednesday and Thursday we have our new starters in for a play and then lunch. (cant believe this was your child last year!) So Red class will be spending time with their buddies, learning a range of skills and working cooperatively.

Over the next couple of weeks, please go over the 2d and 3d shape names and properties with your child.  We have concentrated so much on number, it seems some shapes have been forgotten.  So we will be learning these again next week, but I will send a 2d and 3d shape mat home too.  Also a number formation sheet, this will really help them to prepare for Orange class.

Don't forget Sports Day is coming up and your child will need to wear black shorts, trainers and the correct colour t-shirt for their river family.  If you are unsure about this, then please just ask.

To help us with our pirate work next week, can you send in lots of unwanted newspapers please.  Yoghurt pots etc always come in handy!

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Newman and Red team
