Red Class Newsletter 15.03.19

Date: 15th Mar 2019 @ 2:25pm

Dear Parents,

This week in P.E we practised more skills with our SAQ equipment (ladders and hurdles), the children are demonstrating good skills and agility within these activities.  Unfortunately we didn’t make forest school this week due to the high winds and rain, but will be out this week – on MONDAY.  We will be having PE on Tuesday this week as a one off.

We have been reading Mr Gumpy’s Motor car and have taken part in a range of activities.  The children have sketched a picture of Mr Gumpy’s car and have then labelled it.  We have written the animal’s excuses and/or re-written the story looking carefully at the beginning, middle and end.  In maths we have been solving problems people/animals getting in and out of the car and written these additions and subtractions down.

Next week we will continuing the theme of Mr Gumpy and reading the book ‘Mr Gumpy’s Outing’.  This time he goes out on his boat!  We will be ordering pictures from the story and retelling it orally and then writing it, we will be making boats and seeing how many animals it takes our boats to sink and the children will read the story and answer a range of questions. In maths we will be counting, sorting and problem solving.  We will be learning about big and small animals and what their babies are called too.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Newman and Red Team
