Red Class Newsletter 10.11.17

Date: 10th Nov 2017 @ 5:09pm

Dear Parents,
This week we have finished off work around Cinderella.  Due to the amount of rain on Tuesday we put off making leaf crowns in forest school and got ourselves togged up and enjoyed the puddles instead (see learning books and FB for photos).  The children have been learning to read and make o'clocks, 3d shape names and built castles using these.  They have written words to describe a character from the story and also been learning and practising new sounds and lots of reading.

The children looked fabulous for their photos on Tuesday and all did their very best smiles!  We hope you like them.

At home this week can you please keep up with the reading, writing name, sounds, doodle maths and tricky words.  Even within a week we can see children are now recognising the 6 tricky words.  Well done!

Next week I won't be in for a few days.  But don't worry, the children are being left in the very safe hands of Mrs Yeomans, Mrs Costa and Miss McGraw.  On Wednesday Mrs Lindop will also be in class supporting.  They have some lovely activities planned around 'Little Red Riding Hood'.  P.E. will be some basic gymnastics skills and for outdoor learning they will be creating their leaf crowns.  I am away doing my 'Forest School Training' which had to be postponed last year.  I am very excited as this will allow me to carry out activities such as fires, tool work, and much more with your little ones.

Some extra home learning for the adults - please please take a look at your child's learning book if you get some spare time and complete the front sheet with their details on.  You can also post comments by their posts too.  One parent has already done this (you know who you are) :-)

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Newman and Red Team
