Red Class Newsletter 08.06.18

Dear Parents,
This week the children have been reading 'The Tickly Octopus'.  They have been busy writing the story in their own words, learning facts, making 8 in different ways, adding 2 numbers together to find the total, finding 8 natural objects in forest school, creating their own octopus and lots more..

They had a dance session off Miss Lisa (specialist dance instructor) this week and a singing lesson by Mrs Swan too.

Next week we will begin our learning around 'Pirates' and will be reading a range of pirate stories.  First one being 'The Night Pirates'.  The children will be making treasure maps, telescopes, build pirate ships, walk the plank, design a pirate hat, make a WANTED poster, look for buried treasure, write about the things they treasure and lots more.

Please keep up with the reading and writing at home. If you want some maths,  I have been using this app recently at home and found it is really good.  It's called 'Number Blitz Maths Key Stage 1 and it costs 79p.  It's a little bit advance for reception aged children, but if they like numbers, it may be worth having a go!  Hope you are enjoying phonicsbloom?

Next week, forest school will be on Monday and P.E. on Tuesday as usual.  The school nurses are in on Monday checking weight and height.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Newman and Red team
