Red Class Newsletter 08.03.19

Date: 8th Mar 2019 @ 10:22am

Dear Parents,

Thank you for all attending parents evening this week.  It is lovely to catch up with you all and talk about your child and their progress.  We hope you all found it of use.

This week we have made bird feeders for forest school and did P.E outside in the sun.  We have enjoyed learning about ‘Shrove Tuesday’ and having pancakes for snack.  The children wrote what their favourite topping would be.  In maths we looked at adding two numbers together to find the total and practised forming our numerals correctly.

World Book Day was fantastic – The children all looked wonderful (we will send a class photo home tonight).  But please see learning book for even more.  The children wrote sentences about who they were dressed as and carried out a range of other activities.  We looked at every classes door, which had been decorated as a book and joined in with our special whole school World Book Day assembly.

Next week – we will be reading ‘Mr Gumpy’s Motor Car’.  The children will be re-telling the story and/or writing the animals excuses inside speech bubbles, they will be adding and subtracting by taking the animals in and out of the car.  We will be looking at a simple water cycle and how it works and what happens to materials if you add water.  The children will draw Mr Gumpy’s car in their sketch books and we will label these.  There will be a car wash outside and the children will need to design posters and signs and lots more…

Thank you to those for the junk – at present we have enough.  But will message you if and when we need anymore.

Please keep up with the reading and doodle maths at home.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Newman and Red Team
