Red Class Newsletter 08.03.18

Dear Parents,

Well, what a great week we have had!  The children have been learning all about being 'Unique' through reading a range of Elmer stories.  We have made repeated patterns using Elmer the elephants and used these to match the correct numeral and numicon pieces.  The children have read regularly and have written a sentence every day! Today we wrote a fact about an elephant.  As well as forest school, P.E, art work (see school Facebook for photo) and more…

Next week, we will be learning through the story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear'.  We have lots of exciting activities planned and would like the children to bring in their favourite teddy bear on Monday and Tuesday please to help them with their work.  We are planning to write about our favourite toy and use them in our maths too!
Please can you also collect tubes again over the weekend as we are going to need to make our own binoculars again to search for Bears!  We will be going on a colour hunt outside, making bears out of clay, collecting natural materials outside and writing a list of what we find.

Thank you to everyone who has completed the home learning task, week 1.  The children were really proud of their work and the book is beginning to look fabulous - look out for it coming home as it will soon be a book in our very own school library.

Have a lovely weekend, keep up with the reading, home learning tasks and doodle maths.
