Dear Parents, Well what a 'Whale' week we have had! The children have thoroughly enjoyed finding out facts about whales - they are like little sponges at the minute. Take a look on our school Facebook for a few things we have been upto this week. We are soooo impressed with the children's reading and so are they! All this extra reading has really paid off. It's lovely to see children recognising and reading print in the environment now, as well as in their books. Next week I will be sending home a slip in their reading diaries of how to help with their next steps of reading and next steps in their maths too. It would be of great benefit if you could work on these with your child as they are personalised targets after assessment. I will also send home the ELG's of what we are working on so you know (These were sent out at parents evening too). Any problems or questions let me know. Next week is a shorter week, but with the same amount of learning crammed in. We are focusing on 'Sharks' and have lots of fun learning planned. We will be doing shark maths, shark writing fact sheet, making a shark tooth, labelling sharks, finding out how sharks float, and lots more! Don't forget to dress children in PE kits on the Tuesday too. Have a lovely long weekend, fingers crossed for sunshine! Kind regards, Mrs Newman
