Red Class Newsletter

Dear Parents,

This week we have been learning all about the Chinese New Year. The children enjoyed listening to the Chinese Zodiac story, making their own kites and flying them, placing the animals in the correct order in the story and writing down their positions – 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. We all made a Chinese lantern and have written some amazing sentences too. Thank you to everyone who sent in the homework sheets. The children enjoyed sharing who was born in the year of which animal.

Next week is a really busy week. Starting off with Monday which will be forest school and we will be using the book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? to help us with an activity outside. (look out for photos on ‘My Learning book’)

We will be making bear collages, using 2d shapes to make bears, using our maths skills to share in a teddy bear’s picnic activity and lots more!

On Wednesday we will be writing about our favourite teddy bear. To help with this writing, can the children please bring in their teddy bear to school.

Don’t forget it is our class assembly this Friday at 10am, all welcome. You will get to see a few bits of what we get up to in Red class.

Just been checking the parents evening appointments and a few of you haven’t made an appointment yet. If you are having any problems then just let me know and I will try to help.

A week on Wednesday is a school visit to the RSPCA in the morning, please return slips asap. Children will need a drink and snack and will wear school uniform. We will be back in time for lunch.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Newman and Red Team
