Red Class Newsletter 03.02.18

Date: 3rd Feb 2018 @ 3:28pm

Dear Parents,
This week we have been busy learning about 'The Smartest Giant In Town'.  We have measured his belts and put them in length order, counted spots on his tie, adding 1 more / less and even doubling the number too.  We have written a list of rhyming words using a word from the story, been on a rhyming hunt, jumping in puddles, washing and pairing socks and lots more.

Next week we are learning all about 'The Snail and the Whale'.  We will be writing words to describe snails, retelling the story, finger printing snail patterns, weighing parcels, answering questions such as 'Does a whale weigh more than a snail?  Then guessing the weight of wrapped parcels.  We will be making our own snail trails, making our own snail in the style of Matisse and lots more!

It is also parents evening on Monday and Wednesday - we are really looking forward to catching up with you and informing you of your child's progress.  If you haven't booked in, then please ensure you do asap.

The following week is STEAM week and the children will be moving around the classes in their 'River Families' - see Newsletter for more information.  There won't be PE or Forest school that week.  But we are going to Delamere on the  Thursday.  Children are to wear own old clothes, suitable for the weather on that day.  We will take wellies and waterproofs too.  Any questions just ask.

My Learning Book - We have been busy adding to these every week.  PLEASE take some time to read/see what your child has been getting up to.  There are lots of photos and videos too!  If you can, please leave your own comments or even add a photo of what your child has been getting up to at home.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Newman and Red Team
