Dear All,

We had a great time at Jodrell Bank.  The children behaved brilliantly.  They were keen to ask lots of interesting questions and even more keen to let the session leader know what they knew!  The inflatable planetarium was a particular highlight!  Thanks to our parent helpers who came along too.

This week we have work experience student here from Brine Leas School.  She will be helping the children with their art work and lucky for us she’s taking GCSE in textiles so will be helping with our sewing project too!

Thank you to the parents who were able to come along for the music concert on Monday.  It was great to see so many of Yellow Class taking part and being brave enough to play in front of a room full of people.  Well done.

Home Learning – as Mrs Hennessey Jones has set the ‘50 Things’ homework there is no formal homework being set. Please keep sending in the photos.  Our display is filling up fast. However, I would really like the children to keep working hard on their times tables 2, 5, 10 and then 3 and 6. I will also be sending home the Year 2 list of ‘common exception’ words.  These are words that do not follow any pattern that we have taught. You have already had many of these on spelling lists throughout the year but a recap before September would be useful.

A few dates for your diaries

Tuesdays - 28th June and 12th July - Forest Schools

Tuesday 5th July – Milldale – Please let me know if you are able to come along and help. We still need helpers for this trip next week

Wednesday 6th July –there will be a short parents evening.  5 minute appointments will be available if you need to discuss anything from your child’s report

w/c Mon 27th June – We have started our sewing project.  Please let me know if any parents/grandparents would be able to come in and help us out, particularly on Friday afternoon.  Please also could you bring in any buttons/threads you may have at home that we could make good use of.
