News Letter 22.2.16

Date: 22nd Feb 2016 @ 12:01pm

Firstly, I’m looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 24th February for our year 6 SATS talk, starting at 6pm.  I will be giving you all the necessary information regarding the 2016 SATs tests.  I will also be sharing with you some example questions and giving you websites for you to look at in your own time.

English – we are going to explore how the UK fits into the European Union and have a debate based around the YES/NO vote, what do you think are the pros and cons for UK of being a member of the European Union.  We will then write our thoughts, feelings and justify why we have decided to vote for or against.

Maths – we will recap the most effective strategies for dividing and multiplying.  We will then use these strategies and apply them to a range of problem solving activities.

Art - Who is Hokusai and what were his main influences?

Geography – Using an atlas, we are going to become familiar with the construction of the world.  We will be exploring continents, seas, countries and their time zones.  What is the equator?

Hope you had a relaxing half term.

Mr Frankland,

Mrs Swan and Mrs Ryles
