News letter - 1.2.16

Date: 3rd Feb 2016 @ 4:35pm

English – we have now written our monologues and we will be editing these and creating our published copies.  We are also going to perform out monologues using a range of drama techniques to built suspense.

Maths – We are continuing to translate and reflect shapes on full co-ordinate grids.  We are also heavily focusing on reasoning and being able to apply our knowledge to answer a range of problem solving questions.  This is a particular are of maths that I feel we need to practise on a daily basis.  Especially as there will be two reasoning test papers that the children will have to sit during our SATs.

Through art, geography and history we will begin to explore the world and will become familiar with the continents, seas and countries (including their capitals) that make up our globe.  This will also form part of their home learning for this week.

Science - we are continuing to investigate microorganisms and we'll devise a fair test based around the rising of yeast.

Hope you had a good weekend

Mr Frankland,

Mrs Swan and Mrs Ryles
