Home learning Friday 21st April

Welcome back J

I really hope you all enjoyed a lovely sunny Easter and that you managed to have at least one chocolaty treat; I know I did.

Thank you for the home learning that your children have completed over the Easter holidays; I can see how dedicated they have all been.

Homework this week is to practise measuring and finding angles in maths. For English I have included some more examples of the types of questions they are likely to encounter in the SPaG test (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar). When your child is completing these questions please make sure that where appropriate their sentences start with a capital letter and end with a full stop or another form of punctuation like a question or exclamation mark. Marks can be lost in the test by omitting these things.

Our new topic this term is based around Light and this question: What colour is light? The cloudy overview is on the website for further details. For the first time I am working with colleagues from BLS to trial a transition project and Violet Class will get to work with the science and English departments at BLS.

Homework club will run this week from 3.15-4pm, the last homework club will be Thursday 4th May.

This is always an exciting term for Y6 with lots to look forward to. They will have visits to their new high school to aid transition and to prepare them for the next step of their educational journey. We also have Milldale to look forward to on Thursday 18th May with Red Class, a science project with Nantwich museum, Bikeability on Monday 12th June and PC17 is 11/12 July.

I look forward to an exciting final term with Y6.

Kind regards,

Ruth Hadfield
