Year 3 Class News Letter

Monday 12th June 2016

Dear Parents,

It was lovely to have the children back this week and see what they’d been up to whilst I was away. They spoke of some exciting learning and although I didn’t get any peppermint, they said it was lovely.

The children completed publishing their letters in their learning journals and enjoyed sharing them with each other.  It really helped them visiting Woodcocks’ Wells and using this experience to write their letters.

We will be starting our Shakespeare work this week during our English sessions this week – all will be revealed this week. I’m very excited! Pear Tree Theatre Company is underway.

The children enjoyed using our mini analogue clocks to tell the time this week and we’ll be transferring these skills to digital clocks as well. Thank you for helping the children to learn how to tell the time at home – it is such a key skill.

24-hour clock -

There is some work around telling the time on My Maths this week. Please have a look if you can.

We’ve had some really positive feedback around Sports Day at the end of the week, so thank you for coming along to support the children.  The children ran their hearts out and loved the whole morning. It was great to watch Red, Orange and Yellow class early in the morning as well.

The children loved creating our artwork for SkoolsFest this week and even got the opportunity to paint outside!  Please go along and see the artwork over the weekend of SkoolsFest.

The children were given a second team to support during the European Championships. We spent time on Friday learning all about these countries and sharing their fabulous facts.

Town Sports is approaching, so please make sure your child attends the sessions on Monday night.

I will of course be Tweeting and Facebooking throughout the year. I’ll keep you up to date throughout the term via:

Twitter - and our News Letters.

If you have any questions please get in touch as soon as you can.  If you can’t make it to school, please email me
