Summer Term No 11

Forest School again next Friday afternoon.  Please send in a pair of gardening gloves if you can, required when using tools.  We tried splitting a small log last week with a dangerous looking, but safe to use, tool.  There’s a specific way that we teach of using a billhook to split logs safely for the fire.  Unfortunately, the logs that I have are too hard.  Does anyone have any logs that may be more suitable for splitting of the size used for wood burning stoves?

The world of Macbeth is being explored – slowly!  If you have anything tartan that we could use for costumes and character signifiers, please can you send them in next week – we need to see what we’ve got to work with.  A tartan blanket would be good for throwing on, as someone becomes Macbeth for a scene.  Meanwhile, each child will look part of the cast with a tartan addition to the plain black top and bottoms.  This could be a bow, hair band, scarf, tie, etc.

We’ve not had a chance to use the earphones / ear buds yet, but at least they are ready for when there is game or online tutorial to listen to.  We are looking forwards to trying the Incredibox app which I’ve had downloaded on to the iPad Minis.

It’s Skool’s Fest this Saturday.  There are things going on around the town in the morning.  There is a Samba Workshop 12-1pm  - in the church and then on the square.  Our School Samba Group is playing at 1pm.  You must see our artwork on display at Nantwich Museum.

The reports are out on today.  Just in case you need to ask a question, there is an opportunity for an appointment on Wednesday.  Hopefully you won’t need one.

A reminder that the Cross Country event is on Monday.  We need as many as possible to compete so that our score qualifies.  This is the one competition where everyone can compete at their level, the score adds to our total and all are applauded.

‘phone school or just pop in.
