Summer Term No 6

It has been lovely to hear about the family bike riding that have been going on.  There are plenty of cycle lanes along pavements – I wonder if there is a safe circuit around Nantwich?   Delamere forest is good for cycling, with various circuits clearly marked.  Park up at the visitor centre for information - here’s café there as well.

We’ve had a go at making stencils as part of work on Sound and Vision.  The children have been really enthused by cutting stencils safely with craft knives.  The results are just blobs of paint – but our brains can resolve them into Ant ‘n’ Dec, The Queen or Yoda.  We have looked at the work of the enigmatic street artist, Banksy and his use of stencils.  I am looking forwards to answers to the question – Who is Banksy?  For SkoolsFest, each class has been tasked with making a piece of art on the theme of Faith, Hope and Charity.  We are going to try our stencil techniques for this as well.

Congratulations to the team from Y4 who played in the tag rugby festival.  I heard that they played really well and behaved in a sporting manner. . . and the football team, who won their tournament on Friday – well done!

The summer is here, the jumpers are off – and lying around the place.  Can you please name your child’s clothing clearly.  There are quite a few with washed off labels.

Patrick Scott completes his first teaching practise at the end of the week.  He has got to know the children really well and got the best from them.  He has had a very successful six-week block and we wish him all the best with the rest of his course.

Sorry for delay of this newsletter – technical problems!

‘phone school or just pop in.
