Dear Parents,
What a magical week we have had whilst reading 'Room on the Broom'.  The children have been busy writing their own sentences and flap books and learning 'ordinal numbers'.  Such as 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. Please can you discuss these at home as we found them a little tricky.  The rosettes in class today helped a lot!  Outside the children have made forest art brooms and wands, made up their own potions and even acted out the story with masks and a huge broomstick!

Next week is exciting as we will be reading the new story by Julia Donaldson - The Ugly Five.  This contains 5 animals who class themselves as ugly from the Savanna.  We will be having a range of wild animal toys, masks, binocular making, safari hunts, junk modelling, cutting snakes, moving like animals, painting wild animals and experimenting with colours and patterns, writing a list of our own 5 favourite animals and counting animals too.  Its a fun packed week of learning and fun!   Please send in tubes to make binoculars and any other junk modelling materials too please.

Thank you to everyone who has completed home learning.  Remember to send it in once you have completed a piece, we have been sharing these in class, stamping them and sending them back home to complete more.  The children have been really proud of their work too.

This week we have also been assessing the children's reading and are really pleased with the results.  Please keep this up at home too.

Next week -
School nurse is in on Monday to do checks.
Monday - forest school
Tuesday - come dressed in PE clothes.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Newman and Red team
